Young Minds Showcase Home-Built Microscope at MoCTI

Pupils’ innovation in learning adds excitement and creativity to education. When they can explore and create, they do not only learn but also gain a deeper understanding through hands-on experiences. This innovative approach transforms classrooms into lively spaces where curiosity is encouraged, fostering problem solving skills, a culture that goes beyond textbooks.

Embracing technological creativity, the Ministry of Communications Technology and Innovation (MoCTI) hosted two brilliant minds from the Saint Edwards Secondary School. The pupils, driven by curiosity and a passion for science, proudly presented their home-built microscope crafted from scraps and 3D printed parts.

The Minister of the MoCTI, Madam Salima Monorma Bah, clearly impressed by the pupils’ remarkable achievement, extended her gratitude for their contribution to the realm of science and technology. Encouraging them to channel their inventive spirit towards solutions for pressing national issues, Madam Bah emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting and nurturing the talent of young Sierra Leoneans.

“We are truly at an amazing period where Sierra Leoneans, regardless of age or social status, are looking at our problems and innovating solutions for them,” said Minister Bah.

Expressing optimism about future collaborations, she assured the pupils of the Ministry’s support and commitment to providing the enabling environment to promote these ideas into viable businesses, validating their efforts and positioning them to drive technological advancements nationally.

This engagement not only highlighted the incredible potential residing within the younger generation but also showcased the government’s dedication to fostering a culture of innovation and problem-solving. As Sierra Leone enters this era of transformative thinking, the MoCTI stands as a pillar of support, ready to propel inventive ideas into the forefront of national development, promising future where innovation knows no bounds, and young minds shape the landscape of progress.

In conclusion, the intersection of young minds showcasing innovation and ministry attention signifies a collaborative effort bridging education and technology policy.
