Today, Ministry warmly welcomed its new Deputy Minister, Mr. Paul Hingha Tucker.

Speaking during his first engagement, the Deputy Minister shared how he had been following the work of the Minister Salima Bah long before this appointment. He recalled watching her interview on Arise TV and Channels in Nigeria and smiling to himself, saying, “That’s my Sierra Leonean sister.” Their first meeting had taken place some months ago in Kailahun, where he approached the Minister, shared his thoughts, and proposed ways to work together. He called the moment a “divine connection.” Months later, that connection has turned into a leadership role, with him now officially joining the Ministry.

With a background in History and over nine years of experience in the transport sector, Mr. Tucker brings both a people-first mindset and a passion for service. “The new Sierra Leone is in our hands,” he said. “I am here to fulfil the President’s policy agenda and provide strong auxiliary support to the Minister.”
Mr. Tucker ended with a note of gratitude, acknowledging the visible progress the Ministry has made, “The work of the Minister is seen. Let’s give her a round of applause.”
