Mr. Tamba E. Juana is the current Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation . He is one of the few civil servants in the Open Service with a strong Foreign Service background with over 23 years service at headquarters and Sierra Leone’s foreign missions. Prior to his postings to the Ministry of Information and Communications in September 2022, he had served in the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development as Deputy Development Secretary.
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, he rose through the ranks serving as First Secretary, Counsellor and Head of Chancery (in both multilateral and bilateral settings), Chief of Protocol, and Director of Multilateral. He also had a five-year spell at the African Union Commission prior to his return to Sierra Leone in 2017.
As a Diplomat, an Administrator, and an International Civil servant, Mr. Juana possesses a wealth of experience dealing with and handling relevant and complex issues of International Affairs Management, Governance, Human Rights, Global Health, Social Affairs, International Migration, Labour, rights and welfare of Children, Humanitarian and Emergency Preparedness, Policy Formulation and Implementation, Planning, Technical Cooperation, Budget and Finance, and Personnel Management.
Mr. Juana holds an Upper Second Class Degree (with Honours) in History, a Masters in International Relations, and a strong background, training and experience in both political and social Sciences.
