Ibrahim Sannoh is a dedicated Sierra Leonean politician and public administrator known for his commitment to technological advancement and innovation. Currently serving as the Deputy Minister of Communication, Technology, and Innovation in the Republic of Sierra Leone, Sannoh has a proven track record of leadership and achievement in both the public and private sector.
Sannoh’s journey in education began at Saint Francis School in Sierra Leone, where he received his primary education. He then pursued his secondary education at Government Secondary School in Bo, laying the foundation for his academic pursuits.
In 2006, Sannoh was admitted to Fourah Bay College, where he embarked on a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Political Science. This multidisciplinary background equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of language dynamics and political systems. Building upon his undergraduate studies, Sannoh pursued a Master’s in Public Administration at the Institute Of Public Administration and Management, graduating in 2019 with advanced knowledge in governance and public policy.
Sannoh’s professional journey commenced in 2018 when he assumed the role of Deputy Executive Director at the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA). His strategic vision and innovative approach to governance led to his promotion to Executive Director in 2020. During his tenure at SLRSA, Sannoh spearheaded transformative initiatives, including the complete automation of operational services for licenses. His most notable achievement was the introduction of the biometric driver’s license, a pioneering endeavor that revolutionized road safety in Sierra Leone. This initiative remains a cornerstone of the country’s efforts to enhance driver identification and promote safer roads.
In August 2023, Sannoh was appointed Deputy Minister of Communication, Technology, and Innovation for the Republic of Sierra Leone by President Julius Maada Bio. In this capacity, he is entrusted with driving forward the nation’s digital agenda, fostering innovation, and leveraging technology to address societal challenges. Sannoh’s appointment reflects his unwavering commitment to advancing Sierra Leone’s technological landscape and promoting inclusive growth through digital transformation.
