The Digital Skills Training Programme for Civil Servants is being rolled out across Sierra Leone’s civil service, and Cohort 2 has just completed its second week.
The programme is designed to modernise how government offices work and improve the services they provide. The Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation is delivering it with the Ministry of Public Administration and Political Affairs, Human Resource Management Office, and the Public Service Academy. The current cohorts are made up of administrative staff from across ministries, departments and agencies.
Each cohort attends three Friday sessions from 9am to 1pm, working on laptops throughout and using AI tools and Google Workspace on the same tasks they handle in their own offices.
Cohort 2 finishes on the 30th October with a capstone challenge that leads to a professional certificate. Further cohorts will follow as the programme continues across the civil service.
