The Data Centre in Bo, Orange Sierra Leone’s national disaster recovery hub, is the country’s second facility of its kind. Working alongside the main Freetown centre, it ensures essential systems remain operational during power outages, natural disruptions, or technical faults. Strategically located in the South, it expands digital and financial services to rural and regional communities, including Makeni, Kono, and Kenema, while balancing network traffic to improve connectivity in underserved areas.
“Since 2018, the President has placed technology at the heart of Sierra Leone’s development priorities. Through targeted investment in connectivity, we have strengthened the digital landscape and built a foundation for nationwide digital services. We are steadily extending connectivity and improving systems that support public services, learning, and innovation. We thank Orange Sierra Leone for its continued investment and support in expanding access to technology.” Madam Salima Monorma Bah
